Podium Finish at Pesta Sukan 2022

Pesta Sukan is Malay for Sports Festival and it is held during National Day weekend every year. Except for its two years of absence during Covid. Now that Pesta Sukan dragon boat race is back, the organizers took health and safety precautions very seriously. Nevertheless, despite the requirements and restrictions the event went well and we thank SDBA for their tough love for our teams.

For Punggol Coast CSN a.k.a. Team Kraken, this race was doubly special because this time we collaborated with Changi Simei CSN and Nanyang Polytechnic dragon boat teams. We made new friends in every boat we sent down and in all categories we participated in.

Like in any race, there were some hiccups in the process such as Cat1 on Sunday morning and another team's boat colliding into our boat mid-race on Saturday afternoon. Paul, one of our Master rowers in that boat said, "(It has been) an eventful day indeed. From boat collision to picking ourselves up again to grab a medal! Great job team!!!"

Our Coach GW commented, "(This is) a good collaboration between rowers from different teams and building friendship in the community. ... I had seen more consistency in execution and close fight with strong teams that bring us a step forward." Heartiest congratulations for our Masters who won second place!
