One Paddle and SDBF in one fell swoop

What is interesting about Punggol Coast CSN a.k.a. Team Kraken is that the members are made up of people of various age, background and fitness levels. During Singapore Dragon Boat Festival last weekend, Team Kraken sent down PA GRO Mixed boat with paddlers whose average age probably a decade older than other participants. Or more. But never you mind, our mature paddlers fought through the 500-meter lane as a team. Juraimi, a long-time member, said, "We may not be the best but rest assured that all of us are rowing at our upmost best".

And the previous weekend at One Paddle North East - which was a 200-meter dragon boat race as well as community event celebrating inclusivity and unity - Coach Guan Wee remarked that it was a good race putting our consistency and resilience to a test despite facing stronger crews. On point with the message of the day, he concluded, "One team, one boat, one rhythm. Let's keep building. Stay united."

Thanks to Exco for bringing us this far - as well as to Coach Zul and the baby sotong ladies under his care.
